During his Master's degree studies, Bernd Hollerit was selected for an exchange year at the University of Tokyo. After finishing his Master's degree, he entered the PhD program of the Department of Systems Innovation, School of Engineering, at the University of Tokyo. His PhD supervisor was Kenji Tanaka.
Dr. Hollerit participated in various on- and off-campus activities, such as TEDx UTokyo, Model United Nations, The University of Tokyo EDGE NEXT program, Slush, Hult Prize Melbourne Regional Finals.

Bernd Hollerit started his academic career in his home town at Graz University of Technology.
During his Master's degree studies, he won the Austrian National Award for Innovation for Multimedia & eBusiness, was published and presented at the prestigious ACM Web Conference (formerly know as International World Wide Web Conference), and was selected to participate at an exchange program at the University of Tokyo.
