During his Master's degree studies, Bernd Hollerit was selected for an exchange year at the University of Tokyo. After finishing his Master's degree, he entered the PhD program of the Department of Systems Innovation, School of Engineering, at the University of Tokyo. His PhD supervisor was Kenji Tanaka.
